We are pleased to invite you to a series of three interesting workshops that are dedicated to the effective management of European Works Councils (EWCs).
Managing employee representation at European level is a complex and challenging process. The European Directive on the establishment of a European Works Council only gives broad principles but does not provide you with sufficient backup on how to organise and involve the EWC efficiently on the important company topics. Programme
The different workshops will be organised in a similar manner. We will start with a thorough introduction on the legal framework of the subject on the first day. The legal framework forms the basis for the interactive exchange on the daily practice of working with EWCs. These workshops seek to share best practices between HR managers, EWC-experts and legal professionals in order to build an efficient EWC procedure fit for your company.
The three workshops will address the most relevant topics and each of the workshops is focussed on a specific theme.
Workshop 1: What is a transnational topic? – Paris – 9-10 April 2015
Workshop 2: Organising the information & consultation procedure effectively? –
Amsterdam – 4-5 June 2015
Workshop 3: How to manage confidentiality in the EWC? – Brussels – 1-2 October 2015

Project partners
ASTREES (France), EWC Services SBI Training en Advies & FNV Formaat (The Netherlands) and IR Share (France) filed a funding request with the European Commission to carry out a project aiming at the promotion of good practises in managing European Works Councils. The European Centre of Employers and Enterprises providing Public Services (Brussels) and the Dutch Employers’ Organisation (AWVN) have supported this project and mandated the project partners to organise the workshops for their members. The project is co-funded by the European Commission and for that reason, we are able to organise the workshops at a low cost.
